It's always good to know that other people out there practice selective harvest. I went to get bait from the Minnow Bucket in Huntley this afternoon and
the owner shows me a photo of a 23 lbs channel that was landed right near town on a slip bobber rig and big live minnow. He sold the guy bait and an hour
later he comes back with a brute of a catfish. Will (the owner) just so happenned to have a scale. After placing the fish in his bait tank for a few minutes,
he snapped a few photos, and the proud fisherman released his trophy back into the raging waters of the Yellowstone.
It's really a feat in itselft to break the 20 lbs mark on the Yellowstone, few fisherman get to experience that kind of fish and even fewer make the choice to put the catch of a lifetime back in the water. I gotta give this guy props-If anyone knows him, shake his hand for me and wish him good luck on his next fishing voyage from the Montana Catfish Association. Just thought I'd share. Have a safe 4th-of-July weekend!!!!!
