Anybody been out yet? I found my first today a broken up 4 pt with a little drop tine! Sounds like they are dropping early this year because of the extremely
large amount of snow around here compared to normal!!

i havent been out yet with the late doe season still in effect. i know the whities have been dropping for the last 3 weeks. heard a rumor today of a guy that has found 70 sets....no word of size or anything. |

Theres always rumors like that but pretty hard to believe when theres probably 300-400 people in the shedantlers.org website that have a competition across the
US and the leading guy hasnt hit twenty! Until I see pics I dont believe anything!

nothing dropping in Iowa yet, at least not central IA. Never found my largest set until March 1st last year. At least you guys don't have to worry about
the squirrels. If your timing is off by even a day, squirrels will devour entire points off of newly dropped sheds! Shoot a squirrel, save a shed around here.

Alot of bigger bucks have dropped around here, found a nice match set on the county road day after Christmas, bro. found a 7x5 winter/coyote kill same day. I
just hope mother nature doesn't kill off the bigger bucks. Here is some pics.

Nice set man! Too bad about the buck but I think this year there is going to be a big time winter kill! Way too much snow and wind and too many deer!

were we found that winter kill, there was about 100 whitetail, 10 smallish bucks still packing. Was told they all dropped as of a week are too ago, and
another buddy picked them right out of the stacks. I agree, going to be a heck of a kill off..... I don't even want to look for sheds yet might stress
the deer even more. Just wait untell spring.

Im going to stick to glassing fields and checking bales for a while so I dont stress them to much but around here shed hunting is huge and if you dont go early
you wont get any! Around here I think I hate to say it but need a winter kill! We havnt had any winter kill in at least five years and they are giving out 7
doe tags over the counter too bad most that die will probably be bucks! Good Luck!

I shed hunted all weekend, found 8 sat.one match and a match on suday. My partner found 5 sat. and 0 sunday. He has the other side to best one we found, will
have to do some tradin. Thus far this year, I'm up to 21, stacks, we hit everyone we could get permission on and get to. Snow-shoed in, to
some....baja'd into some, had to winch the jeep out.. ha, ha., not seeing much for deer up here, not good. Ran into some guys for Missoula who were
trespassing, lied to the sheriff, "we asked for permission and the guy saves it for his grandkids" and the landowner didn't press charges, but
threatened the guys. They had close to 10 does in there truck for the damage hunt. And pulled 3 sheds off the ground. All I can say is ask first.

Found two more little ones today! I put in quite a few miles the last couple days and have yet to find any winterkill! Lots of snow and lots of deer. I guess its early yet! |
