Every year I go hunting in Eastern Montana with my brother and 2 college buddes....We didn't do to bad for only hunting 2 days. Good luck getting the big
one. I know it's not quite as big as Harris's, but I do have to work some times. haha j/k.

They are all bigger than what Ive killed! Im still holding out for the big one! Nice pics and good job Doublehaul! I do have more time then most people!
Its great owning your own business and its booming again this year . I got a ton of taxidermy work already this year. I seen a upper 140s 4 point whitey this
morning and decided to pass! My wife teaches and shes going to try to shoot it tomorrow morn before work! The plan is to drive a half hour in the dark, be
there at daylight and shoot it at 6:28 which is legal shooting time here and be back home by 7 or slightly after with an hour to spare! You know how hunting
plans go though. People always say they dont have time but in reallity if you want you can make lots of time! I used to hunt everyday before school and
everyday after school but I am kind of a freak when it comes to hunting! Nice job!

Nice job! Thats pretty sweet! I have two buddies comin in town today hopefully we can have some luck! We went out this morning and the big guy wasnt there
but there was a 145 class super heavy 5x5. The only problem was he was too far! Maybe tomorrow!

I hope the 145 class is a whitetail. Just one question, what is up with people waylaying a 20-24 in 5x5 mule deer. I know them deer seem to be a dime a
dozen, just think they need to grow up. Not trying to poop on your parade, just my thoughts take it for what ever.

I understand your concern jetcraft. I am hunting an area with a healthy deer population (by healthy I mean unbeleivably healthy) and only have three days to
hunt out of the whole season I figured we better not be too picky. That being said....If I had every weekend/ weekday/spare minute to hunt and lived in that
area I would never shoot a 3-4 yr old buck. In fact, if I lived there it would be hard for me to shoot a buck under 28 inches wide. I hope all of you avid
hunters understand where I'm coming from. If anyone on this board is offended because we shot four bucks that weren't wall hangers, please shoot me a
PM and I'd be glad to respond. Good luck in the rest of your seasons.

I understand exactly where your coming from! I have people come in town and hunt with me all the time and when you have a limited time them bucks you got are
exactly what your looking for. Yes the 145 was a whitetail and you cant judge a muley by the spread. I have a 186 typical muley, my bro in laws deer this
year was right at 200 NT and another buddy of mine shot a 187 typical muley and none were over 24" but all were definate shooters! The deer just dont
have genetics around here to be wide. I dont think I see a handful of deer over 24" in a year but i do see prolly 25 deer a year between 160-200".
If you have a full season to hunt down the big one, a 160"+ deer could be expected every year but on a limited time hunt on public land good luck!

i completely agree with Baharris!! it doesn't matter how wide a buck is to me its all in height and mass...I mean i love big wide bucks but you rarely see
a buck wider than 25 that are nice and heavy...and those are all good bucks for a short three day hunt...

Hate to say it guys...but trophy hunting is the demise of our sport. I love the pursuit of a big buck just like anyone else...but don't think someone
should be put down for shooting a buck that might not be considered a "trophy." Doublehaul...congrats...I'm sure it was a fun time hunting with
the guys again...nothing better than the "annual hunting trip."

Ya guys know how to judge a trophy? When ya look back at the pics of the hunt and see a great big smile. These are pics of last year hunting with the wife.
She had a great year. Im happy to say I was there. The kill and hunt is half the fun. Remembering her try to gut a bear with minimal damage to the hide with a
greaty big smile the whole time. Thats what it is all about. Cause come Monday I know where Im going back too. Shoot what makes ya smile and have fun. I
promise weather she only shoots a doe Nov 30th the smile will be there.
Forgot Im going on my man trip this tomorrow probaly somewhere on the Stone or the toungue river. whereever there is not a ton of people. Hoping to find a
nice whitetail. But will have fishing poles on hand. Hopefully find a few cooperating cats. Ya guys have a good weekend.
